Corpus Christi is a festivity felt and lived by neighbours. This day, in different squares and streets are installed altars with the image of Christ, balconies and windows are decorated with shawls, arches of palms, aromatic plants such as marjoram, ferns or rosemary who issue a pleasant smell.
The procession walk through the various altars decorated with fragrant flowers, and they stop on each altar to pray with children who have received First Communion.
This day, children have fun with the townspeople.
The procession concludes in the main square, where we install a great altar.
As a curiosity, Yunquera is one of the villages who still celebrated the Corpus on a Thursday, not a Sunday. This day is a local festivity.
