Like the vine, for the weather and terrain, the chestnut is cultivated here in yunqueranas lands. The chestnut is a very precious in making desserts, sweets, chestnut mash, jam ...
Thanks to the diversity of vegetation, this place is suitable for working bees pollinate each year all fields to produce a delicious honey.
Yunquera invites to visitors to know this products:
- Day 1: We meet you in the Torre Vigía, where we will start our route in 4x4 through the nature visiting chestnuts forest where we discover all about this cultivation and we learn to differentiate two kinds of chestnuts in the town. Here, we’ll rest for replenish strength and continue.
Then we will become a real beekeeper, know about the world of the bee, learning all the details of this job so interesting and can direct a taste honey comb.
In the afternoon, there will be a visit by the ethnographic municipality in which walking our streets that still retain some of Moorish architecture left by our residents, visit historic resources as important as the Casa-Museo de Francisco Sola, the Church or the Wine Museum.
- Day 2: To learn more about the local wine production, will make a hiking trail for some beautiful places where we can learn about different types of vegetation that occur in the town to get to a family vineyard.
At the end of the tour, visit the Bodega El Porfín, only winery in the town where we will enjoy wine tasting typical local grape and other varieties. At the same time, participate in a bore of chestnuts in the cellar with wine to savor on cold autumn nights, where we take as a gift a bottle of wine typical of the locality.
