Carnival
Carnival is a popular celebration that takes place immediately before the Christian Lent, which is combining elements such as costumes, parades and the traditional burial of the sardine.
Date: 40 days before Easter Week
Late February, Yunquera celebrates this festivity where people perform parades, costume parades, comparsas contests and other activities.
The last day, we celebrate the funeral of the sardine. After having walked through the village to the sardine, all the black widows and all the participants burn it, while they exploit firecrackers that the sardine has inside. With the last flame, people say goodbye until the next year. After that, the town hall offers tasting punch while they are dancing in the square.
